New NSF Solicitation: NSF STEM K-12

The U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) has announced a new funding opportunity: the NSF STEM K-12 program in the Division of Research on Learning in Formal and Informal Settings (DRL) in the Directorate for STEM Education (EDU). The program supports fundamental, applied, and translational research that advances STEM teaching and learning and improves understanding of education across the human lifespan and a range of formal and informal settings.

Resumption of Operations at NSF

The U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) will be operating under a continuing resolution that runs until January 30, 2026. NSF will prioritize the most pressing issues, including restoring the capacity to make awards and ensuring continued management and oversight of existing awards.

  • AISL Award Recipients should continue performance under the terms and conditions of their NSF award to the extent that funds are available, and the period of performance of the grant or cooperative agreement has not expired.

If you are a current AISL Awardee/Recipient, please contact your program officer with any questions. If you are a panelist or have a pending proposal, please continue to monitor NSF.gov for updates on operations and events.
